Info Welcome to the Tom's Hardware F@H Team Thread (Team 40051)!

Looks like there's a new F@H client out now. Probably the biggest thing that most people would be interested in is the option to select "Covid 19" research now. https://foldingforum.org/viewtopic.php?f=24&t=34466 " Please note that there's a new stable version of the client that is available...

If memory serves right, the 670 was a little bit faster than the 660 ti but the 670 used little bit more power to reach that speed. So power efficiency should be about the same between the two when folding.

Well it wont be super fast but from F@H group perspective, as long as your machine gets the work done before the timeout and expiration date, it's all good for folding. Just for giggles, the minimum system system requirement for Folding is still an "Intel P4 1.4 GHz processor " for cpu folding...

To insert a picture on the forum, you'll have to use a separate website like imgur and upload it there. https://imgur.com/ Then you can grab the direct web link of the picture and place that link into the that insert box like you found out. Yeah if happens again, i'd be curious of what the...

Sorry for the late reply, been busy with other things. Just for clarification, are you using the "Web Control" browser page or the "Advance Control" client when referring to yellow color? It sounds like it's the web control page. If it is, I do believe it just means your gpu is able to fold...

Nice, about the same performance (or at least the same performance range) as 1080ti while using less power. Maybe i should get a 2070S for dedicated folding and give this 980ti a brake. lol

Info Welcome to the Tom's Hardware F@H Team Thread (Team 40051)!

Welcome back to the fold! Curious on how fast can that 2070S complete a WU (on average). Been out of the loop with F@H for a while so i really only know about the Nvidia GTX 10 series and prior when it comes to performance. Like I know a GTX 1080 TI is about twice as fast as my 980 TI and...

News Folding@Home Now More Powerful Than World's Top 7 Supercomputers, Combined

Who's this Sta"M"ford you speak of and how they have a connection to the F@H group that once was apart of Sta"N"ford University? Also, as far im aware, F@H has been transferred from Sta"N"ford University to "Washington University in St. Louis" when Prof. Vijay Pande stepped down as director of...

idk.... I dont think you were folding hard enough back then. lol jk. As for everyone else, yes there is a WU shortage and No, there is nothing on the user end that we can do to configure F@H client to pick them up. https://foldingforum.org/viewtopic.php?f=24&t=33193 So all you can do...

Info Welcome to the Tom's Hardware F@H Team Thread (Team 40051)!

Yeah from reading the F@H support forum, there has been a MASSIVE amount of users coming in since the Covid-19 outbreak and it's out stripping the F@H team ability to keep their servers full of WU's for our computers to process. (Think I read somewhere on that forum that there been a 5x to 6x...

Info Welcome to the Tom's Hardware F@H Team Thread (Team 40051)!

For a Single machine, the loopback IP address is fine as that's the client software looking at the host machine (you could put your current machine ip address in but you'd be doing the same exact thing as the loopback address. So it makes the process pointless.) The real reason why you'd want...

Jsimenhoff Just want to point out in the FAQ Overclocking part, the last link is a dead link and doesn't seem to have alternatives from the F@H Group. It used to lead to FAHBench, MemtestG80, and MemtestCL software for stress testing the CPU and/or GPU. Whether these dont match F@H usage...
