Well no... air coolers can't really cope with top end cpus... so unless you have a potato and don't game you'll need an aio...

Thanks for the replies its driving me nuts. Basically the fans I have are silent but they cause the case to vibrate and cause a resonating sound unless set at 700rpm or below the default quiet setting is up to double this as it adjusts itself depending on temp and due to the fans going faster...

Hi, yeah I've read the same so swapping it out could be an option to fix the pump sound which is a shame as I'm trying to stay all icue... but this is an option. The icue system allows me to control all the fans individually and I've tested all this thoroughly and it's both front and rad fans...

Another update to this, im getting idle temps of 30C-40C now so maybe it needed some time to settle? So i think my installation is okay, now i just need to get slower fans and it should be nice , i mean i dont mind idle temps of 50C and be silent, these chips just run hot all the time.

It does let you change the speeds but the fan doesnt listen its a Asus PRIME B450M-A so a bit of a meh board but does everything i want. All other fans but the noctua ones let me change their speeds so its 100% a noctua issue. I will request some better fans from noctua hopefully they wont...

Thats the cable i used but it only cuts off 300 RPM lol The bios cant stop the fan as its a static speed fan, so it will always run at max speed which is pretty dumb. I suppose the only way around this is new fans from noctua, i will email them to see what they can do. Testing games it does...

So scrap the above. The chassi fans were correct. Basically what it is is these notua fans are not pwm and dc only but even when i plug them into the chassi fan header the min rpm is 700 rpm... But whats more worrying is the cpu temps were dog crap at max rpm :/ and im pretty sure the paste...
