I don't need to activate anything in the control panel, it comes automatically setup?

So I recently bought a new laptop that comes with a Nvidia GT 840M 2GB graphics card, and an Intel I5-4210U processor clocked at 1.7ghz. In the product description for the I5-4210U, it says that it can be boosted to 2.7 ghz for better performance. Does anyone know how to do this? Thanks, wertie
