Just another thought to throw out there: With the 5.4b purchase price, AMD could have built another two fabs. Maybe Intel did this to undercut AMDs ability to mass-produce CPUs. This may not be a big deal now, but how will AMD now keep up with Intel pushing their "new CPU every two years"...
