Thanks for that. The PC has not got a seperate graphics card, it is on board and originally had a HDMI connection to monitor, I have since tried a VGA connection to a different monitor - same result, nothing. I will try your HDD test and get back to you.

Thanks for that. It is not a laptop as I think you are assuming and is using the onboard graphic card. There is definately no image to be seen, it starts up bleeps and finds the DVD and thats it - nothing else happens.

Is that a section of the motherboard?
