Hey folks, looks like me DVD drive isn't active on my Hackintosh (Yosemite). It's a Samsung SH-224DB SATA DVD writer - pretty generic I reckon. Are there generic KEXTs I could try maybe?.... Thanks

Well well well.... Seems to be back. I reinstalled the kexts with some russian tweak of the kext utility. the kexts for ALC1150 audio.... We'll see how long it lasts. At least it doesn't the £4000 of that mac I like!.. ;)

I had it all working. I have Maximus VI Formula based Hackintosh running Yosemite, that I installed using Multibeast. I turned it on today and no sound. However, I looked in the system profiler and it's seeing the Intel HD Audio. It's just not available through the system preferences drop...

Yeah I think it's something to do with the lack of DSDT or Atexts... There don't seem to be any yet specifically for Maximus VI Formula - I was kinda hoping someone would've put one up by now... Thanks though, I'll check that link out properly when I get home... Cheers.

Hey guys, I still haven't found a reasonable/workable solution to my Hackintosh project Based on the Maximus VI Formula. I've tried all the usual suspects from Tonymac to Lifehacker and there's always a hitch be it missing DSDTs or atexts etc. I've had it booting into OSX but only with the USB...

Hi, I've just 'Hackintoshed' a new build at the moment based on an Asus Maximus VI Formula motherboard, and now trying to find out who they chose as the wireless chip solution in the wireless card which is bundled with the board - the mPCIe combo ii with 802.11ac/bluetooth 4.0. Any ideas...

Anyone have any idea why 8.1 64bit Windows can't play video without stuttering. Both VLC and the crappy microsoft offerings can't seem to play anything without audio stop, starting and playback scrubbing along the timeline resulting in lock-up of the video stream.... Just built this machine...
