Not really. Skylake is so hot because it runs at crazy frequencies. I invite you to run a 9900K at 3.6-3.8Ghz and you'll be surprised it can fit in 95W TDP. If this is based on Tigerlake and brings a big IPC boost (25-30%) then they can run it at 4Ghz with 8 cores with reasonable TDP (105-125W)...

I think that the difference in performance is negligible now that Qualcomm has 1.2 Gbps modem and Intel has 1Gbps for iPhone X2. What really matters and hope that Intel improved on, is the signal reception. Last gen was pretty good still, but speed dropped faster compared to Qualcomm modem...

Yeah, I think most reviewers push this gaming advantage too much when recommending Intel CPUs. I mean, Intel CPUs have an edge (but not very big) over AMDs, but reviews answer questions for everyone, not only for hardcore gamers. Normal/casual gamers, which are much more than hardcore ones...
