[SOLVED] USB Ports Become Unresponsive/Disabled While Transferring Data

I appreciate your help with troubleshooting! I guess if there is a positive, at least it seems to just be one faulty USB port rather than the entire motherboard or something else failing. If it bothers me enough down the road, maybe I can just take it to a PC repair shop and they can replace the...

[SOLVED] USB Ports Become Unresponsive/Disabled While Transferring Data

Alright, I moved the WiFi adapter to the other port on the front and plugged in the flash drive where the adapter was. It seems to be working when I use that port. So is it safe to assume the second 3.0 port on the front is faulty? If so, do you think it's fine to leave the WiFi adapter in that...

[SOLVED] USB Ports Become Unresponsive/Disabled While Transferring Data

Sorry, I should've tried that before responding. So yes, after seeing your reply I plugged the flash drive into one of the USB ports on the back of the motherboard and it seemed to work just fine. The transfer speed didn't drop to zero and none of the other ports were disabled or deactivated. I...

[SOLVED] USB Ports Become Unresponsive/Disabled While Transferring Data

I use ports on the front of the case and the ones attached to the motherboard on the back. There are two 3.0 USB ports on the front of the case, I have my USB WiFi adapter in one of them and then I leave the 2nd one open so I can easily access/use it for transferring files on USB flash drives...

[SOLVED] USB Ports Become Unresponsive/Disabled While Transferring Data

I built a PC about a month ago, haven't had any major problems besides a booting issue that seems to have been resolved. Now I think I've run into another problem with the USB ports. A couple of weeks ago, I had connected my mom's camera to my computer via its USB cable to transfer some...

Question Issues with booting, sometimes getting “Automatic Repair/PC didn’t start correctly” notices

I didn’t try updating the chipset driver yet. I was hesitant to make more updates or changes because of the booting issue. To add to the confusion, the issue wasn’t happening earlier this morning when I tested it. Should I go ahead and update the chipset driver? Any other thoughts about the issue?

Question Issues with booting, sometimes getting “Automatic Repair/PC didn’t start correctly” notices

Note: the question template below is from a different forum, but I think it's beneficial here for helping me organize my thoughts and what has been attempted. Thanks for any help. Troubleshooting Help: What is your parts list? PCPartPicker Part List CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 3700X 3.6 GHz 8-Core...

[SOLVED] Need help deciding on a monitor (Radeon RX 5700 XT, Ryzen 7 3700X)

A monitor is one of the last items for my build and I’m having trouble deciding on a monitor/narrowing it down. I’ve included the GPU and CPU in the title, but if you need more detail let me know. I primarily plan on using the PC for standard web browsing, Netflix/Hulu, gaming, and photo...

[SOLVED] Sanity Check - build compatibility & hardware

Thanks! I found G.Skill RAM at 16CL for just $3 more, so I went ahead and replaced the Corsair RAM. I do have a couple more questions now: is the SSD size overkill? I plan on using the SSD for the OS and applications and the HDD for games/other storage. Given that, would it be best to get a...

[SOLVED] Sanity Check - build compatibility & hardware

Thank you, can you go into more detail about the reasoning behind the PSU and SSD changes other than the price differences? And if you're able to answer, a question about the RAM: someone elsewhere suggested that I swap out my current RAM selection for CL16 latency, apparently the one I have...

[SOLVED] Sanity Check - build compatibility & hardware

I've been putting together this build for the last few days based on recommendations from others and I'm hoping to get one more look at it before I pull the trigger on it, with an emphasis on potential compatibility issues and the hardware components themselves. The build is mostly for standard...

[SOLVED] Sabrent Rocket M.2 SSD vs. HP EX920 M.2 SSD?

Thanks. So assuming I get the MSI B450 Tomahawk Max motherboard, would I need the PCIE3 or PCIE4 version? From what I can tell, the Sabrent Rocket that I'm looking at on Amazon says "PCIe 3.1 Compliant." I assume that means it only accepts the PCIE3 version.

[SOLVED] Sabrent Rocket M.2 SSD vs. HP EX920 M.2 SSD?

Hi all, I'm in the process of getting parts together to build a PC (my first time!) and I'm trying to decide on a SSD for storage. I've seen a lot of people recommending builds that have the Sabrent Rocket (1TB) but someone else recommended the HP EX920 (1TB) SSD to me because it's cheaper and...

Domain works without "www," but not with "www"

Hi, Today I attempted to set up an online store with Square (not Squarespace) and noticed they had the option of buying your own domain, so I went ahead and did that. I bought a domain through Google Domains and basically set it up as best as I knew how with the instructions Square provided...
