It seems that we haven't had such a cardinally huge upgrade (core count / performance) since almost Sandy Bridge in the case of Alder Lake. Looking at 13 and 14 gen CPUs it seems they will definitely not present a notably higher leap than that provided by Alder Lake.
What do you think? Will...
I am generally talking about the times. The opulent moment, breathlessly reserved and mentioned variably through over a decade, appearing in the beginning of 2011 when Sandy Bridge became available, strewed a gilded polish over that generation of machines. It was a great shift in performance...
I just bought an HP Envy "gaming" computer. It runs really, really hot when gaming, and has a 12th Gen i9-12900 16 core CPU. The case only has a front fan which is poorly placed, a rear 92mm exhaust fan, and a 92mm CPU fan with one and a half cooling towers.
There is however a spot above the...
If Alder Lake runs at 125W and Raptor Lake runs at 65W, everything else being equal, with the desktop always on, under minimal load, how much energy would be save over the course of a year? In kilowatt hours, I suppose.
Hello everyone. As the title says, I will be building a PC (for the first time in my life) primarily for music production/sound work and occasionally some light/amateur Photoshop (not including basic everyday tasks like browsing obviously). For the past month I've been intensively informing...

I'm new to the overclocking world. I went for msi z690a wifi d4 version after looking at the reviews saying this was the best board for the price. I have 12700K installed on it.
I bought crucial ballistix 2x8GB DDR4 CL16 3600 Mhz RAM. The ram runs well on the default JDEC 2666 Mhz, but I get...

I recently picked up a kit of Crucial Ballistix 32GB (2x16GB) 3200MHz CL16 DDR4 (BL2K16G32C16U4W) memory because it was on sale for only £83 during Black Friday. I was hoping to get dual rank Rev.E but apparently crucial have moved away from that so instead I got single rank Rev.B. I couldn't...
Hello there,
I am currently stuck on 4790k build with an upgraded GPU (2070 Super) and am looking to build new and reuse the GPU... I am pretty much a novice at this so any advice would be highly appreciated...
I already put together a list of parts that I imagine would be good together but...
Hey guys, I just recently upgraded a few components in my PC, at first just the CPU/Mobo. Everything was fine in the initial Windows install with my 4x8GB Corsair Vengeance 3000MHz (XMP 1.0). Then my new RAM came in (Trident Z 2x16GB 3600MHz XMP2.0) which I installed... I had black screens, blue...
Hey guys,
Does anyone if the Asetek retention kit (https://www.overclockers.co.uk/aset...-intel-lga-1700-35-150-0000021-hs-056-as.html) is compatible with the Corsair H110i GT (CW-9060019-WW)? Or if there's a compatible kit?
I have enough money to upgrade my current cpu+mobo+ram from intel 4th gen.
Was ready to buy ryzen 5 5600x but alderlake dropped is it worth waiting a bit more for prices to change and switch to the i5-12600k or stick to the current plan with the 5600x
Hi
In February i enabled Resizable bar on my RTX3070 by flashing the BIOS, and i enabled it in BIOS on my Gigabyte Z390 Aorus Ultra with I7-9700k.
Now i have just bought the AlderLake I7-12700k with the Gigabyte Z690 Gaming X DDR4 motherboard and in my nvidia control panel it says Resizable...
I sold my PC for a laptop, which was a terrible decision, and now I am in the process of repurchasing PC parts, but I was wondering, with all of the new series of features that will be arriving, like DDR5 and Intel's Alder Lake, I was wondering if it is better to spend much less on PC parts now...
Hello guys!
I’m a PC enthusiast for quite some time.
Until mid-2019 I’ve been an Intel “fan-boy”.
But Intel started to lose their marketshare to AMD (and ARM).
The next great platform from Intel that should get us all excited is the Alder Lake CPUs, on 10nm, with PCIe 4.0 / 5.0, and DDR5...
