Boxes

Hello. I hope all of you are doing well. :D My question is: How long do you tend to retain the boxes of your PC Components, with the motive of using the same to repack the components? Mine have started to take up space, so wish to decide on which ones to keep and which to discard. I'd be glad...

I have an ASUS X750JB Laptop. It has a VGA port, HDMI, ethernet, audio/mic, 2 USB 3.0s, and 2 USB 2.0 ports. I never use the USB 2.0 ports and I'm actually in need of a Firewire port. Would I be able to replace those USB 2.0 ports for a Firewire one? Here are pics of the card and flat ribbon...
