cmr vs smr

I need a 4TB HDD to store movies and music using an external USB 3.0 case. My first choice would be a WD Blue 5400 (WD40EZRZ) CMR, but for the same price there is a Toshiba Surveillance 4TB (HDKPB08Z0101S) SMR. Toshiba, although SMR, has a 3 year warranty and a huge MTTF/MTBF and seems to be...
