Is there anyway that you can remove the fan speed control dial and add a connector to the wires, so that it can be plugged into one of the motherboards fan connectors and operated via software, instead of having to reach behind the machine to adjust the fan speed?

This would be paired with the GTX 780 for gaming, such as Elder Scrolls Skyrim, Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag, and others. I don't want to overclock. Is there any performance difference in these? The 4670 is $20 more.
