annoying acer pop up telling me to update flash am using google chrome which updates automatically!

My BIOS is corrupted on my Gateway PC and I need to fix that... I try to use it and I cant move the highlight bar. It does nothing. I would like to know how to fix this. As we all know Gateway makes it hard to even get into the BIOS. So how hard will it be to flash/update it?
