Can i get some help please guys? i have £1000 to build a gaming rig. I already have a Benq monitor so its more or less the hole lot for the rig itself.

I wanna be able to throw anything at it in 1080p and max the settings for the next few years.

thanks!

This is what I would go for http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/tgzfbv
I have changed the processor to the i5 4690k because it is overclockable especially with the 212 evo so you will get better overall performance, I also changed the motherboard so that it is compatible with the CPU. I changed the ram because you can get the same performance for cheaper, it also comes in 3(I think) other colours if you don't like the blue. I changed the power supply as this one is much more reliable and has more than enough power. And best of all it is all within budget. Message me if you think I can help you with anything else or add anything or have any queries.

I would change the PSU to an Evga B2 series 750w. It will give a bit more headroom for overclocking, and allow for a second GTX 970 to be added in the future.

Yea the CPU is good for overclocking and is probably the best value for money CPU you can buy, you should have no problems with it. The GPU is also top notch and is what I use in mine, however I have the gigabyte 3x wind force version of the card however they are all pretty much the same.
When you do build it let me know how it goes and runs.

thought i should add. most of my gaming is done on my xbox one. i play some browser mmo's but thats about s far as pc gaming goes. however i may wanna indulge once i have the new rig.

im waiting to do streaming 2 and from my xbox one.

So yeah i dunnno if i will OC the cpu or add a second gpu for what i will be doing. I just wanna make sure im future proof for what i actually do want to do. If that makes sense lol

You can save yourself £20 if you don't want to overclock and get the i5 4690, however it is sometimes nice to have the option and the motherboard makes it very easy to overclock as it can do it all the work
for you. With the CPU cooler you can easily get away with a light to medium overclock.

No such thing as future proof. Gaming wise, it is best to buy the best GPU can afford without sacrificing too much on the CPU side. For non overclock, single GPU, this would be overkill for 1080p, at this time, but should last you quite awhile.

Even for future proofing? I mean i had an 8350 before and didnt have any issues. The new gen consoles use 8 core AMD CPUs and the way dx12 is going the 8350 will surely benefit.

No such thing as future proof, and FX 8350 is over 3yrs old. AMD realized the mistake they made with the architecture they started with Bulldozer, and are scrapping it, and starting over, with Zen.
