0% GPU Usage on both cards in crossfire

Good day to who reading this. My friend recently put together a gaming rig. It is a bit of a mish mash but stable. It's a combination of my old gaming rig (z97 based system) and 2 rx 560s in crossfire because that's the best he could afford with gpu prices at the time. At first everything worked fine but over the past few days some games when launched are not using the gpus af all (0% usage on both cards) but seem to be using the CPUs integrated gpu because the CPU usage hits 100% almost instantly. I am an nvidia guy and dont know much about crossfire or what might be causing it. If any one has any suggestions I'd be very much grateful. Thanks

But let me get the silly question in first: display cable plugged into the graphics card?
