You need 2 identical HDs and a RAID controller. If you don't have the
controller on the motherboard, you'll have to buy a card. Check on
newegg.com or buy.com.

Hi,

The mobo does have raid, so I just need the exact second HD. Is there a site
that guides the setup procedure?
And what are the advantages of the zero raid config?

Cheers

Spence

Setup depends on the controller, so see the MoBo docs, or download them from
the MoBo or Controller (Promise?) Mfgr site.

Installing Windows will require you to have the drivers on a floppy for use
during installation.

RAID 0 is striping for performance; RAID 1 is mirroring for data integrity.

To set up a RAID 0 array you must use two or three IDENTICALLY sized
harddrives. Close doesn't count.

That is an overstatement. It's best for performance if they're identical
but it is not absolutely necessary. There will just be no benefit from the
wasted 'extra' space on the larger drive.
