$1,000 pre-built deal vs my build?

I've been searching far and wide for a good deal on a pre-built and found this one for about $1,000:

Is that a decent build for the price? I've seen a couple threads on this deal and it's advised that it just needs a PSU upgrade and it's all good. What do you think?

Other than that, I'm also considering building this at a much higher price point at ~$1,400:

Decent?

I'm looking for something mainly for gaming, programming, and occasional video editing. I play games such as PUBG, Overwatch, BF1, GTA V, and CSGO. I'm comfortable with 1080p, +60fps at relatively high settings. Not really worried about 4K/Ultra.

Would the pre-built with an upgraded PSU be fine, or would it be more cost-effective to go with my build in the long run? Any advice on my build? Thanks in advance :).

The GTX 1070 is terrible value atm when the price is so close to the 1080.
Since you're playing a lot of FPS games, I would highly recommend you get a 144hz monitor.

I would slightly modify your initial $1366-cost build to increase performance (e.g., GTX 1070 GPU, and 3200MHz RAM) and enhance white-themed aesthetics, and still would cost ~$10 less than the original:

Alternatively, you can also consider a Ryzen platform for better price/performance (lower costs at only ~$1176):
