1.2 Thunderbird Heatsink?

I'm going to be buying a 1.2 Thunderbird and I've zeroed in on the Alpha PEP66T for the HSF. The only thing I'm worried about is the weight is 373 grams and AMD recommends a HSF of 300 grams or less. Has anyone had a problem with a HSF that is heavier than AMD recommends?
Also, If you have any suggestions on a different HSF that is good and not too noisy, I'd love to hear them.

Thanks for the help.

If you want to keep the noise down you will need a fan with low rpm, and to compensate that you will need the biggest heatsink you can find. In that perspective, the PEP66 is about as big as they get, so good choice. I have one myself, and haven't experienced any problems with the weight.
The only coolers which are possibly better are the Swiftech coolers, and then especcially the MC462. Very expensive though, and with the standard fan the noisiest you have ever heard! But you can mount a more quiet fan on it off course. Though it is a very heavy heatsink, this poses no problem as you mount it ti the motherboard with 4 bolts, and not to the socket itself.
check out www.swiftnets.com for a general idea, or see the review here on Tom's hardware.
Also the Silverado might be an option, but that thing costs a fortune as well and weighs more than the Alpha.

The problem isn't crushing the core, but the heatsink comming off enroute. You can only pull so much force before that clip/screws break through the plastic/PCB and rattle around a bit. That's where the 300grams comes into play. USPS isn't exactly 'careful' with every package, and those engineering limits are given a real world test. 46G's is hard to pull without thrust of some kind, but heaving the computer off the back of a moving truck might pull around 8G's. So that heatsink would come off when UPS delivers your package to your house.
