Welcome to the Spring 2019 Best PC Builds Competition! For over two decades Tom's Hardware has brought you news and reviews of the latest in PC hardware, while the famous forum has grown to more than 2 million members. Because of their expertise and the constant requests for help with PC builds, our members have developed a talent for finding the best prices and putting together the best system builds.

This thread is for the $1,500 Streaming and Gaming PC budget category. We're specifically looking for great gaming rigs that perform well when streaming on YouTube or Twitch. Please only submit builds within the $1,500 budget category to this thread. All other builds will be disqualified.

Submissions will be accepted over the next 2 weeks.

Please make sure to follow the ground rules below. Any builds over budget will be disqualified.

Here are the ground rules:
  • Only one build per budget category, per user. Multiple builds from a single user or duplicate accounts will be disqualified.
  • Do not go over budget.
  • Use only Amazon AND/OR Newegg to source parts.
  • DO NOT USE Amazon 3rd Party Sellers or Newegg Business to source parts.
  • Use list prices only: coupons, rebates, bundles or any other limited-time offers will not be accepted.
  • Do not include shipping or tax in your final budget.
  • Do not include the Operating System, Monitor or VR Headset, Keyboard, Mouse or Gamepad.
  • All builds must have a name.
  • Do not put your forum handle in the name of your build, and avoid odd capitalizations & symbols.
  • Provide links to the Amazon and/or Newegg product pages of each component — we encourage users to use PCPartPicker's System Build for speedy construction. Do not post a link to your build, but rather please be sure to export as BBCode for a quick copy/paste to the forums:
Here's an example build for formatting help:

Note: The Super Luce's I chose for the previous build was gone from PCPartPicker's listing, hence why I moved towards the G.Skill Trident Z RGB kit. Otherwise that was money I would've dropped towards a 2700X.

All black them build, no RGB, ITX build. Used aftermarket CPU cooler/fans for very quiet operation.

"The Little Red NVENC Machine"

Build is designed around streaming with the NVENC encoder on RTX GPUs, so a high end CPU is basically useless, utilization impact from NVENC encoding is basically nothing.
Motherboard, the X470 variant of the ROG Strix B450-I is basically identical. Same VRMs/Power Delivery system, same IO, same amount of SATA ports etc. So it makes no sense to go X470 on Mini ITX.
RAM: Ryzen performs very well with both high frequency AND very low latency RAM.

You can enable StoreMI, if you want, but that will create 2 drives: a 1.25TB Hybrid OS/boot drive, and a 250GB nmve one. Alternatively, just install all programs and your currently played games on the m.2, and save media on the spinner.

This build is all set for 1440p or VR gaming, running RIGHT to the limit! ($1499.95!)

The Challenger S case is inexpensive, but the basic frame has been a Tom's Best award winner in the past. With teh additional fans, it has 5 120mm fans (4 of which have blue LEDS): two front, 2 on the side blowing on the GPU and CPU, and one unlit exhaust fan.

A microATX board and the small case saves cash for the RTX 2080 GPU which is fed by the 8 core/16 thread R7 2700X CPU, with a solid cooler to allow an overclock. along with the standard 16 GB of DDR4-3000 RAM.

With plenty of CPU and GPU, this can game and stream a 1440p (or even squeeze into 4K with lowered settings -- like no AA)
