I started buying the components:

Motherboard: Asus ROG Crosshair VIII Hero (Wi-Fi)
CPU cooler: Noctua NH-U14S
PSU: Seasonic prime ultra 750 Gold
SSD (1TB NVMe): Samsung MZ-V7S1T0 970 Evo plus

The CPU will be the 3900x.

As for the RAM, is it the same to buy a 64GB (16x4) kit as opposed to buying a 32GB (16x2) kit and adding the same exact kit at a later date if necessary?

It is better to buy ram in a set rather than expect two identical sets to work together
Ok, thank you.
I'll go with the 64GB then.

  1. F4-3600C18Q-64GTZN (CL18 22-22-42): € 387
  2. F4-3600C16Q-64GTZNC (CL16 19-19-39 ): € 475
  3. F4-3200C15Q-64GTZ (CL15 15-15-35): € 473

N° 3 is not in the list of compatible RAM in the motherboard site.

Now the question is whether the CL difference is worth the € 80+.
I searched the topic and haven't figured out how important CL truly is and in which situations.
