1 tb SSHD vs 2 tb HDD

does getting a SSHD really make a difference? i mean will it load BF4 and make windows boot up faster than a regular HDD?

if so then why hasn't it replace HDD's yet?

Yes.. makes a BIG difference.. to load times and makes Windows feel faster/more fluid..
Why not replaced?
Just look at the price difference.. and you will have your answer

It does load faster as it uses an onboard small-sized SSD or flash memory as cache.

It hasn't replaced standard HDDs because HDDs are an affordable working option. Also, some don't see the premium price of the SSHD as worth it.

SSHDs are an interim solution, until regular SSDs come down in price.

Hey. I just got a new machine with SSD installed and I can tell you that there's a huge difference between SSD and HDD. If you can afford 1TB of SSD, go for it, but don't expect it to be cheap. As of now my machine boots and is ready to use within 4 seconds as my operation system is installed on the SSD.

Go for the SSHD, they are much more reliable and faster than the Standard HDD, they come with 5 year warranties for a reason whereas HDD's only have 2 year warranties. Yes you can get twice the capacity but you will sacrifice speed and lifespan to acquire it.

Seeing as this thread is 3.5 years old, doubtful that the original poster is still around.
And conditions have changed significantly since then.

But, to your points before I close this:
SSHD's are NOT much more reliable than an HDD. They both have the exact same spinning drive innards. Just that the SSHD also has a small SSD portion. Generally 8GB.

5 year warranty? No.
I suggest you actually look. A current Seagate FireCuda 2TB SSHD has a typical 2 year warranty.
