INTEL Skylake Core i3 6100 3.7Ghz,
ASUS H110M-A Motherboard
8GB 2133Mhz DDR4 Crucial RAM
SSD Crucial MX300 525GB SATA
Gigabyte GeForce GTX 750Ti Graphics Card
500W PSU
OS: Windows 7 Home

Working perfectly for 12 months, then suddenly screen froze mid way through game. Re-booted and it seems to start up...fans spin (case, CPU, PSU and GPU), mobo light comes on but that's it. No display at all.

Monitor is OK - plugged laptop into it and it works fine.

I swapped the SSD into an old laptop and that's OK.

The system didn't have onboard speaker so I can't tell if there are any beep codes, so I've ordered one off eBay (cheap, £1.50!).

Any ideas what it could be? I guess the speaker should tell me something.

Cheers
Steve

Solution
Yeah, a PSU has several groups of outputs at different voltages for different functions. It is possible for one of those to fail while the others still work.

Hi, PSU is Seasonic SS-500 HT Active PFC F3,
It’s a few years old.
I assumed since fans were working and light was on mobo that it wasn’t a PSU issue...could it be on the way out?
Thanks
Steve
