Yea i have i5 7600
Gtx 1060
16gb ram

But my gpu doesnt get touched when playing it
Touched?

Anyway, 7600 is not enough for play modern games. It have only 4 cores and 4 threads. If you're having stuttering or something, you should move to 7700 if you find for a good price or move to Ryzen. Ryzen 1600 would be a awesome upgrade (if you want a cheap one) for you and its very cheap. Sadly you will need to change motherboard too, of course.

You need to really check all the post above this one.

  • Download and use MSI afterburner, heres a guide (https://www.gamingscan.com/msi-afterburner/ - you should read the "How To Enable The On-Screen Display In MSI Afterburner") - rodrigoxm49
  • Make sure your display is connected to the graphic card and not the motherboard - drivinfast247
  • Update your GPU drivers. SgtScream
  • Do you have atleast 8GB of RAM? - look at the system requirements, developers recommend 12GB, and 8GB as minimum.

And I agree with sizzling, the Core i5 7600K is a somewhat entry level gaming cpu nowadays, but if you take a loot at the system requirments of the game (https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/news/call-of-duty-modern-warfare-2019-system-requirements/), it should be enough to run it at a decent performance.

If all that fail: Are the case and cpu heatsink clean?, Dust inside your PC could be making your cpu to throttle down cause of high temps (most modern GPU drop a lot of hot air inside the case, if its not well ventilated and clean it can cause your CPU to underperform).

Cheers

Did you watch the video that I have posted? 7600 reaching almost 100% usage on GTX1550TI. Like we all know, if you put a better GPU, it will push CPU too.

It's expeteced that 7600 reach 100% all the time with a 1060 while playing game like Modern Warfare. All you guys need to do is watch the video.

7600 or any other 4/4 CPU is just not enough for Modern Warfare.

I know what you are saying, but just because a CPU tops 100% usage in game doesn't mean you can't still play it decent.

Thats all. I used to play Shadow of Tomb Raider with a Core i5 3570 + GTX 1060 6GB, and the CPU also tops at 95~100% usage all the time, but still the game was very very playable. Heck I even used the same machine to play BF5 campaing, it wasn't perfect, there was some roughness when changin scenes, but it was still very playable, and I did the first 3 chapters without hiccups.

The video shows one case scenario, with an even lowest Core i5 7400 which only tops around 3300MHz on all core boost. The 7600 should top around 3800~3900Mhz on boost so the performance should be a bit better.

Also the OP never said at what resolution and detail settings the game is. And in fact, we don't even know if the GTX 1060 is the 6GB or the 3 GB version, that can also impact the performance of the game.

Perhaps all the OP needs is to play a bit with the game settings, make the GPU work harder.

EDIT: and yes, I also know that multiplayer game tend to tax the cpu harder than the campaing mode.

Agreed. OP just need to know if 100% CPU usage is killing the gameplay for him or not. I do 100% agree with that!

But it will always depend on how many frames are being achieved.

Let's say, if you have a 100% CPU usage on game X, but you still have more than 60FPS and you have a 60Hz panel, well, theres no problem at all. Agreed.

But if you have a 100% CPU usage and frames droping to less than 60, reaching 40 or even 35 frames, this bottleneck is killing your performance and maybe is holding back your GPU performance.

About Shadow, my old i5 2500k@4.4Ghz have killed my gameplay (rx470 OC droping to less than 70% Usage). Yes, in the major part of the game, I could keep 60FPS, but sometimes it was not possible, having drops to 35, 40 or 45, killing my framepace and my generally experience on the game. Updated to Ryzen 1600 and I have 100% GPU usage all the time now. Much better frames, keeps 60FPS almost all the time. When it's not possible, its because my GPU is holding back my general performance.

But, still that, it was my experience. For some people, anything above 30FPS is absolutely playable and drops are perfectly acceptable, even stuttering here or there, which is often caused by high CPU usage.
