Hello.
I have and Seagate 1tb as an second HDD (2 years old). i have Window 10 installed on SSD.
Yesterday my HDD going extremly slow, even when booting to window and shutdown PC.
I checked task manager, process tab tell the disk always at 33% usage (i have 1 ssd & 2 HDD), while on performance tab, my seagate 1tb with 3 Volumes D E G show 100% active usage, repsonde time at 0 and spiking to 1800ms every 3-4 seconds.
I want to backup my Data but everything related to the damn HDD is too slow, even volume G is inaccessible, and do not show its capacity.
I have try changing sata port, sata cable, does not help. I can use checkdisk or anything like crystal disk on volumes D E G, taking too much time.
So,
What happened to my HDD, can i repair it? (out of warranty maybe)
If it must be fail, any way to backup my data faster because it is like 10kbs/second. Damn...

Ashen.

Yes, your hard drive is failing. It could be very expensive to have it repaired depending on what the specific issue may be. There are methods for replacing just the circuit board and drive motor, but you will have to either have a tech service do this for you or you can try and do it yourself. You would need to buy a drive identical to the hard drive you have now in order to swap out the circuit board and drive motor. There are YouTube videos on how to do this. Just make sure that you DO NOT OPEN the hard drive enclosure itself!!

Thank you Ninja, i have no choice :(
I have another question:
What's the exact problem with my HDD, bad sector or something else?

And do you have a way to backup my data faster?
