Question Help - Dell Optiplex computer won't boot.

My son hot wired 3 speakers (computer/ tv speakers) to his PC. I unhooked speakers because the computer Powers on and makes aloud fan noise then it does nothing. What should I do?

Which model Dell is this, there may be diagnostic lights inside that will help. I fear that your son may have blown something in the soundcard section or worse. The built in soundcard is not a speaker amp which is why PC speakers are powered/amplified and usually have a power button and volume knob.
