Question 100% disk usage on new system

I have just made a new system and it worked perfectly fine, but after installing Valorant, the disk just ramped up to 100% constantly and it gave a BSOD (Critial Proccess Died) and then it deleted windows (It booted into the bios and there was not a bootable drive found). The ssd is an m.2 2tb kingston, I have one on my own pc and I've never had issues like this. I installed other stuff and everything went well until I got to valorant. That's when it just started dying. It has already deleted itself 2 times, I don't know what to do anymore.

Kingston have a number of M.2 drive sunder it's portfolio, which one do you have? When posting a thread of troubleshooting nature, it's customary to include your full system's specs. Please list the specs to your build like so:

include the age of the PSU apart from it's make and model. BIOS version for your motherboard at this moment of time.

You state building a new system, did you migrate the OS drive from an older system? It's possible that the drive was on it's way out or was overheating.

Things come bad in box sometimes. Assuming that everything else is good and download from official site do you happen to have even a 2.5" SSD you could try on that new board?

I do not sadly, but it's still weird as I saw in task manager that riot is using even 900mbps on the disk, it works flawlessly until I install it.

If this is the only software that creates problems, I would assume that it's likely related to the software and not hardware.

I read that Valorant has a very aggressive anti-cheat system that gets installed in parallel to the game and works at the kernel level, so inside the Windows core system. Maybe it gets crazy and breaks you Windows when you install it. Do you promise you are not cheating?

Yes, I'm not cheating. It's a new windows installation too so I don't have anything that can be flagged as a cheat

The 'deleting itself' issue has me thinking this is a fake drive. That is the kind of behavior they do when you try to put more on them then that actually have.

I did get it from the most reputable store in Romania, but I'll see if I can get a new one

If you suspect the claimed capacity of the drive is false and you don't mind wiping all the data, try h2testw. I've been using this program for years to check SD cards from eBay and it's only detected one obvious fake. Not had a problem with Amazon cards (so far).

H2testw writes 1GB files to the card or disk until full, then verifies the files. It reports true capacity and and data corruption. When finished, you delete all the 1GB files.

This is what you can expect with defective media.

This is what you might see if the drive capacity is misrepresented (fake). The screen shot below implies the true capacity is about 32GB, but the claimed capacity appears to be 120GB (127967MB).

From the slow read/write speeds in both tests, these examples are obviously not modern SSDs or high quality memory cards.

It's useful evidence if the retailer is reluctant to refund your money.
