Nice. Enjoy it.

Thanks! Most everyone that had seen what I was looking for said to go with the gto because of the sm3. Was thinking if I went $200, I'm just going to chip in $79 more for the x1800xt, well if I'm to that point I might as well chip in $30 more and go with the 7900gt... I was ripping my f'n hair out!! Didn't really want to go over the $200 mark just yet! I would rather see what vista and DX10 craziness first.

Then found out connect3d it's possible to unlock the 4 extra pipes that are hidden. As well as a $60 mail in rebate pushed me to grab this card and SM3 as well.

7600gt oc really caught my attention, which is why I asked no one to tell me about the 7600gt's because I already read so many posts about this card. It’s a nice card, but didn’t hold up under higher resolutions with detail turned up. LCD will be bought after summer is over, so didn’t want to chance it on this card. Hope everyone understands now.

Thanks again every one for helping me out on my decisions! Next poll will be how a higher end card actually makes your windows load faster. Seeing how there is people who haven’t heard of that anywhere.

6800gs = Windows XP pro watermark showed for about a half a loading bar.
9700pro = 5 to 6 loading bars.

This being after a format and reinstall, Raptor 74, and 2 gigs of memory.

12's! Jesus murphy... I've never had a car that could perform anywhere near the 12's. That was always somehting I considered out of my league. I'd love to drag a 12-second car though, just to see how different it feels.

I managed low 13's with my Coronet and a lightly massaged 383 magnum, all you had to worry about with those cars was mostly traction, add a cam and exhaust for good measure and 13's weren't a big deal.

The best I've done on street tires is 12.62 @118. Low 13s is a fast car, no doubt about it. Sure, there are a few 10 sec. street cars around, even a few in the high 9s but they aren't very streetable. Getting below 13 for my car was as much about suspension tuning and moving mass around as it was adding horsepower. Also, learning how to drive it better was good for over a 10th. Finding the right 1-2 shift point really helps. Funny how hard it was to get from 12.95 to the point of breaking 12.70. Sort of like trying to get the best OC maybe...

You mention the 12 sec. feel. A good friend recently sold his Willys that was running a blown hemi. On a good day he was in the low 11s and it felt super fast over the second 1/8th. He never figured out how to get it to hook up out of the hole - or rather, he wouldn't listen to reason. Anyway, the point is that before he put the blower on it, he had a high 12 low 13 car and it felt much faster than mine even though it was slower. Mine got out of the hole super fast whereas he fumagated the bugs. But once he got that puppy rolling, it had you pinned in a big way. It pulled hard up to about 150 and at that point was a very scary ride - all over the road. My Z felt better at 160 than his did at 130 and in turns the difference was even greater.

My original Asus mobo came DOA! Really bummed me out. But ended up getting the board I listed. At least it has SLI now.

I had Abit for my 2800barton for years. They have great bios support and that board lasted me for years of wear and tear. So I should of went Abit right off the bat. It's a great looking board too!

Thanks again for all your help guys, just getting ready to benchmark it and play some games!
