I've been using a 1680 x 1050 monitor for about 2 years now and am going to be purchasing a 1080p monitor in the upcoming months. Obviously it will be better, but am I going to really notice the difference in detail? (This is for gaming btw)

Thanks in advance guys!

Solution
Probably not, unless you watch a lot of 1080p videos. I'm guessing a one-for-one match-up of pixels might look a little better than the video software (Windows Media Player or VLC) having to mess with it to get a 1920x1080 video very slightly modified to play on a 1680x1050 monitor.

That does look like a nice one. I've been thinking about just waiting until that new 1440p ASUS monitor with G-SYNC come out. Do you think I should just stick with this 1050 until then?

you're a fool. 1080p is for fools. do you even know the difference between 1920x1080 and 1920x1200?

I used to use a 1680x1050 monitor. you're right, there won't be much difference between that and 1080p. it'll still be cropped at the top and stretched out................... 1920x1200 there is a big difference. the picture in front of you will also be bigger.

You are one mad cyclops 😀
