Would a GTX 1070 be noticeably faster than a GTX 1060 in a i7-2600k system? Or would it cpu bottleneck?

Solution
Depends on what you're playing and what resolution you're running. If you're doing 1080p 144Hz on newer CPU heavy titles, you might hit a bit of a CPU bottleneck with the 1070, though it would still be noticeably faster than the 1060. If you're only doing 1080p 60Hz, the 1070 is more or less overkill and the only advantage in getting the 1070 would be headroom if you upgraded your display or if you wanted to keep the card for a long time eg. 4+ years. If you're running 1440p, definitely get the 1070, it will be significantly faster than the 1060 at that resolution and your CPU won't hold it back in any really significant way.
