I currently have a PC that I build a year ago. Sadly my RX 570 4gb just stopped working a couple of days ago. I have 16gb of ram and i3 8100 paired with it. I was content with its performance but now I need to change my gpu. Looking at the prices in my country I could get a 1060 6gb or 1070 8gb, the price difference is around 20$ to 30$. I'm just wondering is it worth getting the 1070 for more money if the cpu is gonna bottleneck it. Is the 1060 and 1070 gonna give me the same performance because of my CPU. I cannot upgrade my CPU right now as the GPU is the priority.
Thanks in advance.

Get the best you can afford now. If you dont mind spending the money on the 1070 the get it. What says 2-3 months from now you upgrade the cpu, say you saved money and bought the 1060 it could now hold the CPU back.

Yes for future proofing it's a much better idea. But can I fix the cpu stutters somehow? By turning my settings down maybe?

can you give full system specs

do you have an aftermarket cooler or stock intel cooler? what temps are you getting on your cpu?
It's intel standard cooler my Temps are pretty good my cpu stays around 50 to 65 c at high usage. Don't get me wrong i didn't have cpu stutters with my 570. I'm worried if I put a 1070 in my system

I have 2x8 3200 mhz ram
550 wat bronze plus power supply
2 tb hard disk and 500gb samsung nvme.m2
