Hi everyone, relatively new to the word of pc gaming i currently have a GTX1070 and im wondering will it be worth my while upgrading to a 1080ti, i currently have a 1080p 144hz monitor over-clickable to 180hz as it stands all my games easily run everything on ultra without any notice in frame drops?

Solution
gingerf1sh I stick by my original recommendation for 1080p / ultra settings / 180 FPS w/ a 1080 Ti. Happy gaming.

Doom: 200 FPS
PUBG: 60 FPS - 100 FPS
BF1: 150 FPS - 160 FPS
COD WW2: ??? (We'll see final PC release come November?)

FYI: Doom's engine has a limitation (bug?) of 200 FPS
gingerf1sh Although I respect the opinion of the others, I disagree with them. My following response assumes that you're playing games that are more demanding than CSGO and Overwatch. For example, I play PUBG (Player Unknown's Battleground) on a 1080 Ti, and my frames jump between 60 FPS to 100 FPS on ultra settings. With a 180 Hz 1080p display, you'll undoubtedly want a 1080 or 1080 Ti in order to attempt to achieve that framerate, and chances are you won't hit the maximum 180. Since you already have a GTX 1070, a 1080 (non-Ti) wouldn't be much of an upgrade. I suggest going for the 1080 Ti and selling the GTX 1070 to subsidize your purchase. Please keep in mind that the 1070 Founders (aka Reference) has a 165 watt TDP, while the 1080 Ti Founders has a 250 watt TDP. My point is that the new card will make your room very warm. Just be aware

Lets be honest here arma isnt really a good example either since its always been a cpu based game and not gpu but to be brutally honest i think the only reason you would want to get a 1080ti is as said before either you want more frames at 1080p or your going for a higher resolution

so the solution is to have to OP spend 700-800 on a card that still won't give 144 FPS on PUBG (seeing as you brought that poorly optimized, beta stage game into the equation)

The OP has already says he gets ultra settings on all 'his games'. I couldn't recommend the 1080ti on the information provided.

worthless. you dont wanna upgrade if you are using 1080p 144 hz.... you are totally fine... 1070 is a great card if you are using upto 1440p... if someone says to upgrade then that person is technologically clueless about pc gaming components...

I don't think it's a bug. Typically all games have a hard frame cap. Sometimes you can completely override it in console though (like CSGO and Portal 2).
