I have 1080ti and i7 4790k with 16 gigs of rams and 850 watt psu but the frames won't top 60 frames at 2k and msi afterburner showing that less than half of my cpu and gpu isn't used
Please someone explain

Btw, fyi, Hdmi 2 is significant to the hardware involved, your gpu and TV. Hdmi 2 support began 900series Gtx and 4k TV's @ 60Hz only work with Hdmi 2 spec (the ports). The cable between the devices only needs to be high-speed (category 2, though they rarely say it but high-speed is enough) to work at 4k60Hz.

My old ps3 original Hdmi cable (says high speed on cable) works from my 1080Ti to 4k TV @ 60Hz. There you go, don't go by version numbers regarding cables as they are irrelevant.

What games are we talking?

I agree with mdd, vsync is probably on?

That cpu wont limit 1080ti to 60fps nor does the 2600k in my sig.

Edit. What's your monitor's refresh rate set at?
In other games it goes over 60 but still not what I expected
And I'm using a 4k Samsung 43 inch but it has hdmi 2.0
