So i have a microboard m340clz its a ultrawide 3440x1440 monitor with a 100 hz refresh rate, and has a freesync range of 42 hz-100 hz. Should i buy a 400 dollar vega 56 or a 700 msi 1080 ti? Which would give me the most value for my monitor?

Solution
Vega 56 is about on the level of GTX1070.
GTX1080Ti is almost like 2x GTX1070.
For 3440x1440 100hz, you will need a performance class of GTX1080Ti to make full advantage of that 100hz, assumig your proc is not the bottleneck. To produce stable over 60 fps, some games will need an extra proc performance, not only GPU.

Question from Nappleman : "1080 ti or vega 56"

The 1080 will easily handle that.

but the 56 is a much better value. Along with the Freesync feature Vega wins.

Without the Freesync I would have opted for the 1080. The 1080Ti's value is not there, at all.

Vega 56 : GTX1070 level (this might not be enough to pus 100fps on some heavy AAA games), better buying value
Vega 64 air and liquid: GTX1080 level (this might not be enough to pus 100fps on some heavy AAA games), better buying value but consumes a lot of power.
GTX1080Ti: the most powerful there is (best option for 3440x1440 and 4k), quite expensive...nothing from AMD to compete with, unfortunately.

Thats 1440p NOT 3440x1440 ...

when people say 1440P this means 2560x1440 .

Thread poster has m340clz 3440x1440 100hz monitor. Please do not forget that.
2560x1440 is already ok with a GTX1080 performance class like Vega 64.
For 3440x1440, you need quite a lot more performance, especially to aim 100fps.

Okay. Thanks for that. My vote is for the the Vega. I did see that resolution. So, no abbreviation for 3440? That chart is meaningless now.

With Freesync in play Vega is still a clear winner imo.

that benchmark table is not for 3440x1440

is for 2560x1440
