Question 1080p 24 inch Monitor vs 1440p 27inch Monitor when displaying a 1080p video

If I watch a 1080p movie on a 24 inch 1080p display vs 27 inch 1440p display, which would look better?
Similarly if I am playing a Videogame on 1080p resolution on a 24 inch 1080p display vs 27 inch 1440p display, which would look better?

For watching movies, neither would look better. Maybe if you were pixel hunting, the movie on the 1440p display may appear blurrier.

For games, upscaling is more noticeable, but only in places where there's sharp edges of color and plenty of jaggies. There's one game I play that's 1080p only, but because of how it's art is designed and implemented, it doesn't really look that bad on 1440p.

However where the real benefit of a 1440p display would come from is more desktop real-estate. You can see more stuff which may help if you like having windows side by side or something.
