Hi all,
I'm looking at upgrading my current 1080p 60hz IPS monitor, and the only thing I know for sure is that I want to go to a high refresh rate i.e 144hz.
I'm torn between going to 1440p, or staying at 1080p and getting G-Sync. I'm currently running a 980ti which i know can power 1440p, but for how long? Would sticking with 1080p be more future proof in that I will be able to run games at better settings for a longer amount of time?
Also would G-Sync really be necessary at 1080p as surely my framerate will be high with a 980ti and I know G-Sync works best at lower FPS ranges.
My budget doesn't really stretch to 1440p G-Sync...
So TL;DR
With my 980ti, do I go for 1080p G-Sync, or 1440p 144hz no G-Sync
Thanks!
