1080p Seems pixilated especially on youtube

I watched a video on my buddies laptop on 720p and it looked a lot differen't I come and watch it on my computer in 1080p and it doesn't really seem a lot different at all seems pixilated I have one monitor HDMI Cable and one the dvi cable would that affect it at all

one thing could be that the videos you are looking at were not true 1080p videos to begin with, and they were upscaled/upsampled to arrive at those dimensions. you can always try downloading the video in highest quality from a service like KeepIt and run the video locally. That way you can rule out some sort of corruption from streaming.
In your GPU control panel/ windows display settings, did you set your monitor to use 1080p?
Did you allow your monitor to auto-adjust itself to adjust clock/phase to work well?
Is everything else pixelated/ blurry as well? It could just be a bad video or bad internet... 😛

I will check when I get back home I can't log in to that account right now but I'm not sure on the settings and I get 8mbs download speed so I don't think it's the internet.

 


If that is so when watching videos and videos only, then the quality of the video is lacking. If it's from a disc, it just won't go any higher, if it's from YouTube, you'll have to adjust the quality of the video with the little gear icon. Also, a lot of videos are not available at 1080p quality, so you'll have to find ones that are.
