1080p videos on Youtube lag while using Chrome.

Since yesterday, 1080p videos on Youtube started to lag when I play them, while using Chrome. When I degrade to 720p, they run fine. I tried the same on IE 11 and the videos run just fine on 1080p. Any idea what the problem might be? I have Intel i3-4000M 2.4 GHz, Nvidia Gefore 740M (1GB) and 6GB RAM. Also, I have the latest version of my video card drivers, Chrome and Flash Player. I hope that you can help me. Thanks and much appreciated.

i dont know have you tried clearing history cookies and all that stuff? and do you have all the plugins updated or do you have too many plugins?

Yes, I have cleared all the history and cookies. I also think the plugins are updated as well.

If you disable extensions does the problem persist?

I don't have any extensions besides AdBlock. When I disable it, nothing changes. Any other ideas?

I fixed the problem by removing the latest version and installing an older one. However, I can't install other versions, since most of the installers just install the latest version without giving any options. I can either install my old one or the latest one.

I'm having the same perfect. Now using IE11 for Youtube 1080p, which works perfectly.

I had the same problem. EXACT SAME one. My pc is intel i7, 16 GB of RAM, with a intel HD graphics card(which is surprisingly good compared to my older Nvidia). Even with my powehouse laptop I still couldn't watch 1080p 60fps videos on any browser other than Internet Explorer 11. Honestly I think it is just a browser problem. Google gives me the ultimate struggle when it comes to loading high quality videos.

go to settings on chrome.go show advance sets..scroll down to accessibility...uncheck hardware accel...restart chrome...boom done.

Go into control panel and then open flash player.
In storage tab select do not allow websites to store information on computer. Save it.
Restart chrome.
It should work now.
