1080p vs 1440p

I have a Gtx 1070 Gpu i7-6800k with 16Gb ram

Wanna play games maxed out

Should i get 1080p 144hz monitor or 1440p 144hz monitor with Gsync

both will get you maxed out games.
the GTX1070 is a great 1440p card, you won't run 144FPS on mordern games but you will have Gsync that will give you an overall better gaming experience.
you wll be able to hit 144FPS on 1080p but you might have to turn down a setting or 2 to run at 144Hz all the time.

if you have the budget (which it seems like since you are considering it) and are sensitive to screen tearing the 1440p with Gsync is a no brainer.
if you don't want to spend that much on a monitor, 1080p/144Hz would be a great way to play as well.

if you already have a 1080p screen, upgrading just for 144hz doesn't make a lot of sense, specially upgrading to a 1080p in 2016.
