What do you guys mean by how they were used? from what they say, mainly gaming
the 2070s is only 1 month old, the 2080s is 3 months old and the 1080ti is 2 years old ish

Meaning were they mined on, dropped, DOA, etc. Just general stuff about the card itself.

I would probably still go the 2070s though.

Edit: Aye, what WildCard said!
Norway, and prices for gpus have gone up and up and up :/
Wish i could have gotten my hands on brand new 2080s for that price
here a 2080s, depending on model costs from 900-1100 usd

the 1080ti comes with warranty, and since we have an insurance in this country that covers things that break, even if it didnt have a warranty there wouldnt be an issue getting it replaced/money for it by the insurance company

So, 1080ti gaming x would be more than fine for what? 1-2 more years?

Since they are saying that maybe there will be new cards in june?

Nvidia Ampere might be coming out mid 2020 but no exact date yet from what I've seen.

How long the 1080 ti would last at 1440P is difficult to say as it depends on the games you play and what settings your fine with until you want something better.

i dont mind high to very high, as long as the fps is stable above 60 fps

i play everything from LoL to Metro Exodus, not fortnite or pubg etc , too old for that, lol
more single player games ( apart from LoL )

i dont got a gpu atm, been playing with the cpu, only LoL as its all it can handle atm
so now i got money to spend on a gpu, but not sure what to get
but it seems like the value is the the 1080ti, correct? =)

I would argue that the value is the 2070s, assuming it still has a transferable warranty. You don't know what has been done to the three cards mentioned, better to have some safety net if something happens. The 2070s will also have better future-proofing.

Yeah I noticed, was just thinking about the actual warranty length. This insurance is nice, but wouldn't you also have to pay for that? If so, is that cost baked into the current card prices? If you could score the 1080ti for at or around $350, I think that would be a great bargain to jump on.

If we are basing the usefulness of the 1080ti at 2 years, paying another $100 for an additional 1-1.5 years after that would make more sense.
