1080Ti but PC running slow

just upgraded to a 1080ti from a 980ti, but my pc is running super slow and fps is low aswell. I reinstalled the drivers, vsync off and i dunno what else to do.

i7 6700k
1080ti lightning
16 GB RAM
Corsair Liquid Cooler H100 V2
500GB SSD
1TB HDD
ASUS Z170-A
Asus VG248QE

You forgot to include the make and model of your PSU. Compared to your previous card, you're experiencing FPS drops or are you comparing your experience with an article? Speaking of FPS, what titles are we talking about here?

Maybe try running 3dmark and see if your result is below average too.
