1080ti force restarts

currently running a rig with a 3770k and the gigabyte gtx 1080ti 11g oc, i had a gtx 980 before and never had any issues with it but now after installing the card today when i play a game it computer failsafes and restarts. I also have a corsair 850w psu and from what i thought was itd be enough to power the card, do i need more power or whats the real issue?

Which 850w psu is it and how old? Corsair have done some poor units and if it’s more than a couple of years old it could easily be dying.

Are you Oc anything in the system?
