I was thinking about getting some LED lighting for my new rig. I got a RGB (Cause I want to change the colours 😛) 5050 set, but it comes with a DC power input controller. I would like it to be powered by my PSU but I can't for the life of me find the right type of connector and I'm a bit unconfident in my abilities to wire one! If anyone knows of one that they could send a link my way or if anyone has any advice on how to wire up the LEDs (Maybe computer controlled?) It's all appreciated!
-Thanks

Well, if you can run a hot glue gun and a match for heat shrink tubing, you can wire this.

If you take a regular molex -> fan connector (like this one)

You can cut off the barrel connector with a little bit of room on the end. Strip off some of the wiring at the end (leave about 1/4" off) then slide the wires from the barrel connector into the fan plug end. USUALLY the wire with the white stripe is positive, the other all-black is negative. If after sliding the wires in, if it doesn't light up, just flip them. If it lights up, take some hot glue and seal the wires to the connector, and maybe use a nice piece of heat shrink tubing to seal it up.

No soldering required.

If your soldering skills are good, you can cut the connector off, solder the wires together, heat shrink it and it'll have a little cleaner look. Gluing it though does give you flexibility.
