Hi all,

it's finally time for me to build a new Desktop-PC. My last build was from 2015, which i have put together with the great help of you all. I have not followed the scene since then and lost touch completely. For the last weeks i have tried to get in touch with the current trends but to be honest I'm quite a bit overhelmed.

I'm looking to build a PC that can fulfill my needs for at least 5+ years. Main purpose is light gaming and office stuff, so no heavy requirements. Main game is CS2, but I would love to play games like RDR2, Hogwarts Legacy, Horizon Zero Dawn (all waiting in my library but not really playable with my current setup even at low settings). Currently I'm on 1080p but consider an upgrade to 27" 1440p in the near future. I don't need and want flashy RGB - I prefer a clean minimalistic look.

I would love to spend 1000€ (looking at you Black Friday and Cyber Monday) but I'm willing to spend ~1200€.

No monitor, OS, or any peripherals needed.

So far this is what I came up with. It comes out to roughly 1200€ but I'm sure with sales coming up and some smart decision making it will be lower in the end.

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 7600
Motherboard: Asrock 650M-HDV/M.2
GPU: PowerColor Hellhound OC Radeon RX 7800 XT
Case: NZXT H5 Flow
PSU: Gigabyte UD750GM
Storage: Samsung 990 Pro 1 TB
RAM: G.Skill Flare X5 32 GB
CPU Cooler: Deepcool AG400 (read mixed things if this is needed or not)

https://de.pcpartpicker.com/list/DtGVnp

I would be glad for any feedback on the build from you guys - parts i spend unnecessarily on or parts i should spend more on, compatibility issues etc..

Hope the thread is informative enough. I'm happy to give you any extra info you need.

Thanks in advance and kind greetings!

I would probably do something more like this.

The Ryzen 7600 comes with an alright cooler so that can save some money right now. Is it as good as the Deepcool AG400, no, but it is good enough that you can wait a couple months to save a few Euros to get a cooler later on.

While the WD SN580 isn't as fast as the 990 Pro, the additional storage will make a much bigger difference.

The Gigabyte UD750GM is OK but the SeaSonic Focus GX 3.0 is much better overall for a PSU. If there is one piece of equipment that I never cheap out on for my computer it is the PSU.

Great point with the 7500f since its ~35€ cheaper than the 7600 as of now. If it stays like that I will go for that one.

I like the case! But I'll go for the Montech Air 903 MAX since it comes with an additional 140mm fan in the front and costs virtually the same.

May I know the reasoning behind CPU Cooler change?

I can see your point with the PSU. Is there a reason you changed the GPU variant? Is it simply the price? I know 1TB will be enough for me from my experience. So i'm more than fine with that!

Keep in mind that the 7500f lacks integrated graphics, so if your GPU dies, unless you have a spare, your PC is basically a large paperweight until you get a new one. I'd spend a little more and get the 7600 non X.

My suggestion for build:

Thank you for your reply. I have an old R9 290 lying around that still works. I should be able to use that to troubleshoot in case the 7800xt dies on me, right?

Since you suggested the Sapphire Pulse aswell. I have read that the Hellhound 7800xt is supposedly quieter and cooler than the PULSE. Worth 20€ more or not that big of a deal?

In regards to the change of motherboard. What are your thoughts on going for the Gigabyte B650 EAGLE instead of the Asrock B650M?

Having a quieter GPU is never a bad thing and would be worth 20 Euros IMO.

The Gigabyte B650 Eagle is a better motherboard. You have 3 M.2 slots (albeit one that is only x2 but that isn't major) instead of 2 and the VRMs are better. The version that @logainofhades suggested also includes WiFi 6E which is a nice bonus.
