I'm going to get the Thermaltake Armor (Should arrive next Thursday =D), and was wondering if I could add another 120mm fan in the front. It comes with 4 fans, one of them in the front. But, I saw on the thermaltake site, the front fan is relocatable. I was wondering if I could add a 120mm/90mm fan in the front to increase intake. If so, what fan should I get? I searched and, the "FM121" came up as a good one. But, I'm getting a PC&Power 510 (650 W) power supply. How do I hook up a 120mm fan, and should the 120mm fan be a sleeve, ball, etc.? Thanks for your help.

YOu can hook the fan up to the mobo if you have a spare slot or use the 4pin 12 volt. As for which is better the ball is quieter, runs smoother and lasts longer then the sleeve.

The FM121 from Silverstone is very good, matter of fact I am using one right now for my Thermaltake Big Typhoon HSF to cool down my 840 cpu. It doesn't have any fancy led light or transparent assembly but it does what a great fan should do. It can be quite and powerful at mid level rpm and can sucks up massive amount of air at full speed. It includes a fan controller that can fit in 4" bay slot which I am able to glue in one of my Kandalf (similar to Armor but with a door) 5 and 1/4 grill. If you place two fans in your case you should put one on top slots and one on bottom. The bottom cools the provides cool air to the hd and graphics card and the top fan provides cool air to the rams and the psu. I personally mod my case which is the same as the Armor but with an addition of a door. Anyways I place one 80mm fan on the side door the blows cool air for the cpu hsf FM121) thus providing more cooling to the cpu. But overall your case should be good and have plenty for adequate cooling. 😀

So it doesn't matter if I get sleeve or ball? I thought there were specific requirements or something. I'm not good with hardware computers in terms of compatibility =P

Cool, I'm getting a Big Typhoon also. I don't see it, how is your FM121 set up? It's cooling your processor, but from where? Paint picture please =)

That's a crap noisy setup. Take off the 80mm, enlarge the hole to ~120mm and construct a funnel straight to the FM121.

Could I slice a hole in my case's side? And what's a funnel in context here? Also, should the side fan blow in or out?

Thanks to all for replying!

Here's my cpu cooler Thermaltake Big Typhoon with a Silverstone FM121 120mm fan. Notice the 80mm fan installed on the case door blowing cool air in towards the hsf assembly helps to cool down my cpu (Pentium D 840 at 3.840Ghz) to 42c idle and 53-55c full load at normal warm room temperature.
