Solution
Intel coffee lake I5 8400 -> better single core -> better FPS in game, although Ryzen 1600 overclock can narrow down gap pretty good, 8600k overclock can gain more FPS advantage.

Ryzen 1600 has doubled threads which is more useful in heavy rendering/multitasking/streaming. For gaming, you will like Intel coffee lake. Since GTAV is CPU hungary, I will put extra money onto CPU.

CPU: Intel - Core i5-8600K 3.6GHz 6-Core Processor ($279.89 @ B&H)
CPU Cooler: CRYORIG - H7 49.0 CFM CPU Cooler ($28.90 @ Newegg Marketplace)
Motherboard: ASRock - Z370 Extreme4 ATX LGA1151 Motherboard ($159.99 @ SuperBiiz)
Memory: Team -...
You should drop down to a Ryzen 5 instead and use the money saved to get yourself another drive for games/data. That 240GB drive won't be able to hold your Windows install + all of the aforementioned games, unless you're ok with constantly swapping games in and out of storage.

A better build for your goals:

Yeah just a main gaming pc

Check the reviews here and everywhere. The coffeelake cpus are the way to go for gaming.

Here's an upgrade for you , better PSU, Intel i5 , 16GB of ram , 1TB HDD and a nicer case.

Recommended Monitor for this? will be purchasing this next week.

Oh man thanks guys for your awesome and fast responses! i appreciate it guys saved me from a headache i was getting trying to decided all these parts. before i place the order for the parts is there anything else i should need ? to build this

Recommend you one change to Blackbird's build, psu. Seasonic M12II EVO is decent, but old model, which lacks some good protections. This offers better protections, and you will not want go cheap on PSU:

And for the extra 160 bucks or so, you can either get GTX 1080 instead or 8600k + a good cooler like dark pro 3 or R1 ultimate.

Those will add more FPS to the build depending on games.

Stop back if you need more assistance , thanks for posting. :)

Can i see the build? and whats the real major difference for ryzen and intel?
