hi,i'm too confused about resolution,i have a 17 inch screen with a 1280*1024 native resolution and the game look amazing but all the tags i'v read recommend a 22 inch 1080 monitor. The question is that would i get a more detailed game in 1080 or the case is larger subject but with same definition since i'v watched a video on youtube where they said that the defference between the 2 res. is negligible under 40 inch screen.

Solution
You will see more detail. I would much rather have 1920x1080 than 1280x1024. The first is also a wide screen (so you should have a wider field of view in most games), and the second is not.
I believe that most people would not want a 40" screen right in front of them on their desks; 23"-27" is more common.
More pixels generally means more detail, but you will also need quite a bit more horsepower to run games at 1920x1080 compared to 1280x1024.

Consider it like the difference between DVD and BluRay, sure BluRay is better but DVD is perfectly acceptable, and still good quality.

Even if the angle of view stays the same, you can see a lot more on a 1980x1080 screen, if only because game constructs like button bars, compasses, and inventory items will be much smaller.
You will need a much stronger graphics card to maintain the same FPS, which may also mean more power. Tell us what you have now if you are interested in suggestions of what to get for best results.

The forum benefits, because people with similar questions can more quickly find answers.
As a moderator, the number of Best Answers I have really doesn't matter, but it is how people earn badges on the site that roughly indicate whether or not they are more likely than an average user to know what they are talking about when they give advice. That is why the Moderation team is very diligent about banning multiple accounts of people trying to award themselves BAs or otherwise game the system.
