12gb ram for gaming? or to much?

ok so i want to get more ram, right now i have 6gb but i think for 2014 and coming games
i will need more so i want to buy 8gb for one slot and the other with a 4gb.
and will my motherboard work with this ram

You best bet to run in dual mode is two similar chips. it might work but it won't be optimial to mix and match chips.

yes your motherboard will work fine with this RAM,,and as for the RAM,,you dont need 12GB,,,8GB will work fine,,,but if you want,you can have 12,,,and get both sticks(8gb and 4gb) of the same make and model

I have 16 GB in my computer, and I think I have come close to using it all once. It involved a couple virtual machines. You should be fine with 8 GB.

If you have 6 that will be fine,
With just windows and bf4 running I only use 4.3 gb of ram
