I'm looking to modify my current machine running 32-bit XP so it can also dual boot into 64-bit Windows 7. I'm using a Gigabyte GA-EX58-UD4P MB with a Core i7 965 and have two questions:

The first thing I want to do is switch out the 3x1GB sticks of memory with 6x2GB. I realize if I boot into XP 32-bit, Windows will only recognize a fraction of this amount. However, has anyone had any experience running this much RAM in 32-bit XP? Will Windows boot up and work normally? (i.e., no BSOD, etc.)

My second concern is I've come across a number of topics (like one in this very forum) where people have serious stability problems with this much RAM for this particular MB - even if they're using a 64-bit OS and are not overclocking. Any other GA-EX58-UD4P owners out there able to share their experience with 12GB of RAM - good or bad?

Thanks!
