Sorry but AMD CPUs are horrible, and are especially bad for gaming where their larger number of inferior cores are useless.

How are they useless? Having more cores that is clearly detectable by the OS useless? Intel makes great CPUs, but charge more for what you're getting in terms of performance when compared to AMD. Also, I would advise the OP to stay away from Windows 8 due to the gamer unfriendly UI.

Your build is good, in my opinion you should change the HDD for a seagate 1.5TB, and add a 670 GTX EVGA Signature 2, the difference in performance between a 670 gtx and 680 gtx is really minimal, so the value is one the 670 gtx side : http://pcpartpicker.com/p/xDfw

Django, a Radeon HD7970 is more powerful than a GTX670, while being around the same price. For graphics cards I tend to stick to MSI, Asus, Gigabyte, Sapphire and Galaxy for the simple reason that they have far better coolers.

EVGA has the worst coolers and they charge a premium for their products. Many other products have just as good of a warranty and have far better cooling.

Did you see the signature card coolers ? and for warranty and support, the evga ones are the best in that department.
Also, keep in mind some evga cards are expensive, cause they offer the best overclocking speeds from factory and good potential of overclock, if you see the FTW 670, it has the 680 pcb.

680PCB on a 670 has been done by so many companies it's not even funny. Additionally, Gigabyte, Zotac and Galaxy all allow crazy overclocks. BTW, EVGA uses a stock cooler with a different shape and a white stripe on the side. It's still a stock cooler with a blower fan.

Yes, tell us what companies got the 680 gtx pcb, cause many are custom pcb, but with the 680 GTX only the 670 FTW, like i said, i'm talking about the Signature, see what's the cooler like...
And if you see reviews of them, you'll see they're in the top for overclocking(FTW,SC,Classified ones).
That's all, evga are well known, i don't need to defend them.

the signature isnt nearly as good as any other cooler. any closed cooler will lose to a open cooler. thats just what things are. i have a gigabyte windforce 670 (also happens to use a 680 pcb + 1 more power phase) and it will never get above 60c even at max overclock (which is 1175 base and 1312mhz boost). i am limited by the fact that nvidia has put in a voltage lock, whcih the msi pe has unlocked (although you risk frying your card)

The signature ones, keep the temperatures at that rate, with high overclock from factory, they're good, with good warranty and support, i'm not dissing other brands, there are also good alternatives, but the signature cards are pretty good ones.

So guys, can I get an overall build within the budget with all your new ideas?

Your build is good, like i said change the HDD for a 1.5 TB seagate and a 670 GTX, better value, there're at least four good ones : EVGA Signature, MSI Power Edition, Gigabyte Windforce 3x and Asus DCII.
I suggested the EVGA, cause you had an EVGA one.

^looks at the temperature both at regular speed and top speed. my gigabyte at 20% fan speed at full load (folding@home) roughly sits at 50-60c (60c if i let it sit for 24 hours). at my max fan setting, its around 40c

This discussion started when UVB076 said evga were the worse brand of cards, which isn't true, they're good ones, they have some advantages and some disadvantages like any other, good overclock potential, good warranty and support, overall good cards.
It's always like this, when someone suggest a brand, there's always criticizing, cause there're other ones, etc.
In my opinion, i'm not attached to a single brand, just happen to suggest the evga which is perfectly fine, but like i said there're indeed others.

The evga is as good as the others, not worse, for the price you could say there're cheaper ones, but the evga is as good as the others.
If you go with high-end like the classified one, you'll see that overclocking records are on the evga classified 680 GTX with evbot.
Also the FTW are good ones, overall, with warranty and support, they're good.

Well the MSI 680 GTX lightning with the same thing doesn't reach the evga one...or do you think to obtain records, you'll go with the cooling that the card has.
