Hello!.. so i've got my samsung 18inc monitor the problem is though that the highest resolution that it can go is 1360x768 and not 1080p my friend has a lg monitor which is at 15inc and he is able to play at 1080p but when I try to change the resolution it looks really bad I have connected it through a HDMI but still my native resolution is at 1360x768
maybe my monitor doesn't support 1080p or I did anything wrong?
Thanks for your help! :)

Solution
That appears to be a 1366 x 768 screen(they call this 720p for TVs), some will go higher(mostly because TV's may end up getting a 1920 x 1080 signal), but it does not actually look right most of the time(it is much less noticeable on videos than text).
If your monitor was made to display a specific resolution, that is what it'll stay at.
E.g.: If you try and change the resolution of a game to something other than the native resolution on your monitor, then it will look weird and it won't be very appealing. A 1360x768 is a fine resolution to be at, my monitor also only supports 1366x768.

Are you connecting a laptoptop to a moniter because it sounds like it. If thats the case just go into the display setting and change it to extend secoundary display instead of duplicating it. Then you can individually change the resoloution of the moniter. Whats happening right now is your laptop is trying to project a 1366x768 image on the 1080p moniter which will look really stretched.

If you get the monitor model number it would help.

As said above, screens have a resolution and it is independent of screen size. You can get a 10 inch 1920 x 1080 screen or a 30 inch 1920 x 1080. TV's of much larger sizes for the most part still run at 1920 x 1080 as well.

The model number is samsung le19c450e1wxxh
